Two Harvest Moons to PlayStation Network
Among the new downloadable PlayStation Network games released recently, Natsume slipped in a couple of moderately-recent entries from the venerable Harvest Moon series. The two specific titles were originally, of course, released for Sony systems; Innocent Life was originally released for PSP in the Spring of 2007 and PlayStation 2 last year, while Boy & Girl was also released for PSP in July of 2007.
Both games are available now via PSN for $14.99 apiece, likely a reasonable cost if you are a fan of the series but missed out on these games, as many folks might have given the relatively small user base for PSP and slowly dwindling user base for the PS2.

Capcom Creates New "Dream Team" for Upcoming RPG?
Here's a game that is probably worth following at the Tokyo Game Show next week, especially if you've grown a bit bored with what Square Enix has had to offer lately. Capcom has assembled a pretty solid group of names to build their new RPG, drawing one of the authors of Final Fantasy VII, the composer for Street Fighter II, Parasite Eve, and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the character designer of Devil May Cry 4, the producer of Apollo Justice, and the developer of the Luminous Arc series of games. Not much else is known just yet besides the title and platform—"Last Ranker" and PSP, respectively—but the game will appear at TGS, for certain.

Wild ARMs 2 to Playstation Network
The ESRB appears to be regaling us with further previews of future PSN games, this time Wild ARMs 2. The Wild ARMs series was quite popular for the first couple iterations of Playstation, most recently in 2007 with Wild ARMs 5 for the Playstation 2. The particular iteration described here is nearly a decade old, and was the second and final from the series to debut on the original Playstation.
I myself only ever played the demo of WA2, but I seem to recall it being pretty solid fun, featuring the series' unique hook of being set in a fantasy/western setting. Even beyond that, though, it's really great to see that Sony is looking towards RPGs that, while not really obscure, aren't necessarily part of the Square collection that built their empire in the last fifteen years.

Lunar: The Silver Star to Receive a PSP Remake
Apparently Japan isn't running out of ways to transform nostalgia into gold, because we have another handheld remake of a popular RPG on our hands. Lunar: The Silver Star, which has already seen remakes on the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and Game Boy Advance, is receiving a new coat of paint on the PlayStation Portable as Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star. The game is being remade from the bottom up, with new visuals, gameplay, cutscenes, and voice work.
All we have on the game so far is a magazine ad and a few screenshots (right here), but really, it's a remake. You should probably know what to expect, and if you're a longtime Lunar fan like I am, then you have another difficult choice on your hands: do I like this game enough to buy a remake and play it again, or have all the times I've played it in the past been enough? Gamers in the West can probably expect to receive this remake, since goodness knows we have a thousand other PSP remakes lying around (From Ape Escape: On the Loose to Ys Chronicles I and II) and most of the games in the Lunar series have made the trip across the Pacific. Personally, I'm not sure if I have any nostalgia left at this point.

Star Wars: The Old Republic
BioWare announced today the project many people assumed they were working on: a Star Wars MMO (that isn't Galaxies). Essentially, it's going to take the setting, style, and basic principles from BioWare's popular Knights of the Old Republic duo of games and make it massively multiplayer. At a press conference in San Francisco earlier today, a BioWare representative labeled TOR (should we start calling it that?) as "Knights of the Old Republic 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12-plus." So far all they have is some concept art and a couple screens.

Mother 3 Translation Patch Available Soon
Those dedicated (and SLOW) translators at http://mother3.fobby.net/ are nearing completion of their major project - a translation to Mother 3. The fan project has been in the works for over two years, and as a result of their hard work Earthbound fans the world over will be able to play the anticipated sequel without a detailed knowledge of Japanese. Rejoice!
