Strategy

Like Omega, Shinryuu, and the world famous Emerald and Ruby Weapons, this guy is a side, optional boss. And that means he is absolutely the toughest guy in the game. His speed is immense, he's amazingly powerful in magic strength and physical strength, and he's not afraid to flex it. Amongst his weapons include a one-shot kill Glare, a brutal physical attack that he throws out two or sometimes three at a time, and everyone's favorite, Mega Flare. You'll see the countdown begin at 3 and progress to 0. However, if you strike him during the countdown, he'll cease the countdown and move onto a new, and believe it or not a more deadly, attack pattern. If you do strike him, he'll cast OProtect and OReflect on himself. He'll then proceed to bounce for very, very high powered magic attacks off of himself and onto you. And not just one spell, he'll blow three at a time off. If you're unlucky enough, you may end up with 2 dead allies in one turn. He'll run this pattern until you're nice and dead.

This battle will take a lot of strategy. This won't be your simple attack and heal when needed kind of battle. Before fighting, I highly suggest you have both Rosa and Porom in your party. I also suggest having a nice nest egg of Phoenix Downs. One more bit of advice, if you were stockpiling all your Megalixirs, now's the time to unload them all. You will be using a lot of them.

Your allies will have to consistently be using Phoenix Downs and Megalixirs, no matter who they are. You really have no time to wait for the right character to come up. Have Cecil and the rest of your heavy hitters smack the dragon as much as they can. Whoever falls, the next person up should revive them. When Rosa and Porom come up, have them use OReflect until all the allies are covered. If one of the characters dies, their wall is gone, so you'll have to do it again. When Brachioraidos starts his countdown, cease attacking him. As mentioned before, if you attack him during the countdown, he'll change to his even more brutal attack pattern. And keeping him on his physical attack-Glare pattern is actually more merciful than watching him blow you away with his potent magic attack. So don't attack him on his countdown, and as it hits zero, if you successfully reflected all your members, the Mega Flare will bounce off everyone and give him a pretty huge dose of pain. If you continually keep this up, some considerable damage will be taken from him every time. It'll take a pretty long while—upwards of 20 to 30 minutes—but if you can keep this momentum going, you can get it done.

Or, you could just take Kain and hit him repeatedly with the SpearAbel's Lance. If it casts OTornado, it could end the battle straightaway.
