Biography

Written by  Karasuman
Contributor
Tellah is an old man with very little left in the world besides his daughter, Anna. He is spry and active, not one to give into old age, and he makes up for his lack of physical prowess with his magical acumen.

Additional Information

Cecil encounters Tellah on his way through the Water Cavern on the road to Damcyan. Tellah is stuck halfway through the cave, unwilling to turn back but unable to go on, and suggests that they join forces and fight their way to Damcyan together.

When they stop for the night, Tellah reveals that he is traveling to Damcyan in hope of stopping his daughter, Anna, from making the mistake of her life in marrying a traveling bard. When the party arrives just in time to view the destruction of the castle from a distance, Tellah rushes in to locate his daughter. Sadly, he finds her dying in the arms of her beloved, having shielded him from the attackers' arrows with her own body.

Flying into a rage, Tellah attacks the young man, who only begs him to listen. Finally, Anna's pleas win them a brief moment of calm, and she explains that her lover is Prince Edward of Damcyan, and that, though she loves her father, she is not sorry for the choice that she made. Anna succumbs to her injuries, and Tellah departs with murder in his heart, intending to seek out and destroy Golbez.

Tellah spends his time researching the ultimate black magic spell, OMeteo, and, when he again meets Cecil, he is in search of that knowledge on Mt. Ordeals. When Cecil gains the power of the paladin, Tellah is also blessed with his lost magical knowledge. He recalls the spells that earned him his reputation of a master, as well as the power of Meteo. He decides to continue his journey at Cecil's side so they can defeat Golbez together.

While searching for the Earth Crystal in Troia, Tellah again encounters Edward, who is confined to bed rest from the injuries he sustained while escaping Leviathan. Though Tellah's attitude toward him is at first unchanged, Edward's invaluable aid against the Dark Elf soften's Tellah's disdain, and he forgives Edward for his role in Anna's death.

Finally, the party's journey to the Tower of Zot puts Golbez within Tellah's reach. Though Cecil and the others beg Tellah not to call upon the power of OMeteo, his desire for revenge consumes him, and he pours his own life force into the spell. Golbez is weakened by the magic, but not defeated, and he flees as Tellah dies, thinking of his daughter.
