Final Fantasy VII Bosses
Jenova-BIRTH | Level | HP | MP | Attacks |

Sleep, Return, Confusion, Silence, Transform, Stop, Berserk, Poison, Paralysis, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death
Strategy | ||||
Shiva works well enough against this boss. Jenova does a very damaging multi-ally attack called Tail-Laser, so watch out for that. Don't bother even trying Poison, as that will do nothing. If you have the E-Skill Flame Thrower, that does a decent chunk of damage.
Jenova-DEATH | Level | HP | MP | Attacks |
55 | 25000 | 800 | Silence, Red Light, Tropic Wind
Absorbs | Blocks | Strong Against | Weak Against
Steal | Morph | Win Item | Enemy Skill

Immune to Status | Notes | |||
Sleep, Return, Confusion, Silence, Transform, Stop, Berserk, Poison, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death
Strategy | ||||
This is a good chance to try out your new summon. With strong physical hits and non elemental magic, such as summons, this battle isn't too hard. Casting Barrier is also a good idea.
Jenova-LIFE | Level | HP | MP | Attacks |
50 | 10000 | 300 | ||
Absorbs | Blocks | Strong Against | Weak Against
Steal | Morph | Win Item | Enemy Skill
EXP | AP | Gil | Location | |

Immune to Status | Notes | |||
Sleep, Return, Confusion, Silence, Transform, Stop, Berserk, Poison, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death
Strategy | ||||
This boss is rather tough, so be on your guard and heal often. If you put the Water Ring on someone, you'll be happy to see that Aqualung will heal, rather than hurt, one of your party members; this is a fairly damaging attack. Use your high-end summons like Kjata and Bahamut and magic, and cast Haste on someone if you get the chance.
Jenova-SYNTHESIS | Level | HP | MP | Attacks |
61 | Unknown | Unknown | ||
Absorbs | Blocks | Strong Against | Weak Against
Steal | Morph | Win Item | Enemy Skill
EXP | AP | Gil | Location | |
60000 | 1500 | 0 | Inside the Planet
Immune to Status | Notes | |||
Strategy | ||||
Jenova-SYNTHESIS can use its two tentacles to inflict heavy damage if you’re not very well equipped. What’s worse, if you kill them, the main body can resurrect them. Use multitarget spells like Ultima or summons (Knights of Round will be much useful if you have it. If not, rely on the various Bahamut summons). If you want, you can also choose to concentrate on the main body while healing from Jenova’s attacks.
At some point, when you reduce its HP low enough, Jenova will begin a countdown. If you don’t kill her before she reaches the end, she will cast Ultima and then die. Depending on your HP at the moment, you could very easily be wiped out by this sacrificial attack, so pound on her with all you’ve got when you see the countdown begin.
Lifeform Hojo | Level | HP | MP | Attacks |
58 | 30000 | 100 | ||
Absorbs | Blocks | Strong Against | Weak Against
Steal | Morph | Win Item | Enemy Skill
EXP | AP | Gil | Location | |
25000 | 2500 | 6000 | Midgar | |
Immune to Status | Notes | |||
Sleep, Return Confusion, Silence, Transform, Stop, Berserk, Poison, Paralysis, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death
Strategy | ||||
Even if it’s his last form, it’s not his most powerful. If you saved up some Limits, he will go down easily. If not, just stick to your usual strategy, and occasionally heal from the Silence spell that Hojo will use every time you attack him with magic (or use magic only with the character equipped with Ribbon). He really poses only minimal threat in this form, so it should be no problem.
Lost Number | Level | HP | MP | Attacks |
35 | 7000 | 300 | ||
Absorbs | Blocks | Strong Against | Weak Against
Steal | Morph | Win Item | Enemy Skill
EXP | AP | Gil | Location | |
2000 | 80 | 2000 | Shinra Mansion
Immune to Status | Notes | |||
Return, Confusion, Silence, Transform, Berserk, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death | In addition to the item officially won from this battle, you will also find Odin and a Basement Key after your victory.
Strategy | ||||
Lost Number is vulnerable to all types of assault at first, but when one side dies, then the other takes over and the rules change. If his purple side dies, the red side stays and attacks you with only magic, and is very resistant to magic. If the red side dies and leaves the purple side, it attacks with only physical attacks, and is very resistant to your weapons. Fight the red side with physical strikes, and the purple side with magic. He's vulnerable to Stop, too, so you can use Seal Evil and Choco/Mog to paralyze him. A wise thing to do is break Aeris' Limit before the fight, and use Seal Evil on him right away.

Sleep, Return, Confusion, Silence, Darkness, Transform, Stop, Berserk, Poison, Paralysis, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death
Strategy | ||||
This is not a difficult boss, so long as you take note of the strengths and weaknesses noted above.
Palmer | Level | HP | MP | Attacks |

Sleep, Return, Confusion, Silence, Transform, Berserk, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death
Strategy | ||||
As far as bosses go, Palmer is pretty pathetic. He's not a complete pushover, though, so don't let your guard down. Summons work well, and Bio2 is useful.

Strategy | ||||
Make your usual starting move by casting Big Guard and Regen. Then, go after the Proud Clod with you best magic and Limits. Using Tornado and Flare will prove to be very efficient, as well as using Ultima and Comet2. Omnislash will be put to good use if you have it.
Be aware that when his HP are halved, the Proud Clod will start using the Beam Cannon, which is a powerful magical attack. When Proud Clod is preparing the Beam Cannon, it will kneel down, so you’ll have some time to refresh your Magical Barrier gauge if it ran out.

Sleep, Return, Confusion, Silence, Transform, Berserk, Poison, Paralysis, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death
Strategy | ||||
This boss is really tough, so be ready. Have your high-HP people in your party, and it also helps to have Aeris, for her curative limit break. Use items that do damage, like Swift Bolt, Fire Veil and Fire Fang; heal often. The best way to go is to heal someone every second or third turn, and hit him as hard as you can. If someone is downed, bring them back up as soon as possible.

Keep healing Cloud every second turn (or when you think that Rufus could take him out in two hits or less). Your limit break is your friend, as well as magic materia.

There are many variables that go into generating the HP of this version of Sephiroth. To learn more, visit FF:OSG.
Strategy | ||||
Safer Sephiroth uses a great number of attacks, each with grevious effects. He can lower your HP down to 1 using Heartless Angel, inflict great damage with various attacks, or use his most impressive spell, Super Nova (not only is it powerful, but it also inflicts status ailments. And it’s so beautiful that you’re not even mad at him for using it against you). Starting off the battle with Big Guard and Regen will greatly help you in resisting Sephiroth’s wrath.
Safer-Sephiroth will also respond to each spell cast on him by casting Wall in return, so make each magic attack worth it, and use the Destruct materia to your advantage by bringing it down in between spells. Sephiroth can also cast Dispell on himself to negate any bad status you could inflict on him, so don’t bother with that. This is your last battle, so do not hesitate in terms of means: use your Megalixirs after a Heartless Angel attack, and use your most powerful Limits everytime you can. He’s not the toughest boss ever, but he can kill you if you’re not careful.
Sample:H0512 | Level | HP | MP | Attacks |

Strategy | ||||
This boss is joined by lesser minions called Sample:H0512 opt, who should be outright ignored. The minions can be revived, and just do small Roll Attacks, so focus on attacking the large one in the center. His main attack is Shady Breath, which isn’t all that bad. Attack physically, or use magic; they have no real weaknesses or strengths otherwise.

It's best to ignore these smaller ones, and focus on the big enemy they accompany. They revive anyway, so there's no point in killing them.

Strategy | ||||
Schizo Right is Fire elemental and Schizo Left is Ice elemental. Your best strategy will be to equip Dragon Armlets on each character. This armour eliminates half the elemental damage, which is the only attack this boss uses. The Armlets can be found in the previous room where the enemy known as the Blue Dragon will drop them. Best bets with this boss are strong physical attacks.

Sleep, Return, Confusion, Silence, Transform, Berserk, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death
Strategy | ||||
Now Shake is a really fast enemy for the earliest point of the game you can find him, so Haste is more important than before. Just like the last Pagoda battle, throw up Barrier and Haste and just pummel away with your strongest attacks, keeping your HP up as you go. You can also remove that Elemental/Gravity combination, since Demi won't help you much anymore. Summoning Choco/Mog might paralyze him for a while, making the battle easier, too.

The Soul Fires like using Fire2 to cure each other, so try to take them out first (they will come back after a while, however).

Strategy | ||||
Even easier than the other battles in the Pagoda. Throw up Barrier and Haste as in the previous Pagoda encounters, and just pummel away at him with your physical attacks (magic isn't even needed here). Barrier cuts down his damage so much that it'll start to be irrelevant, and provided you're strong enough physically, this fight should be a breeze.
Turks: Elena | Level | HP | MP | Attacks |
53 | 30000 | 100 | Flame Light, Confu
Absorbs | Blocks | Strong Against | Weak Against
Steal | Morph | Win Item | Enemy Skill
EXP | AP | Gil | Location | |

Immune to Status | Notes | |||
Sleep, Return, Confusion, Silence, Transform, Stop, Berserk, Paralysis, Stone, Slowly Stone, Manipulate, Death
Strategy | ||||
The Turks will use some strong physical attacks, as well as some elemental attacks, so you need to be prepared against that. Using characters with long-ranged weapons can be very effective, as they will take far less damage from the physical attacks. They also need the very best armor you can provide them with. Be advised that Elena will use a charm attack, so using Ribbons might be a good idea. On a final note, each Turk absorbs either Fire, Ice or Bolt magic, and is immune to Gravity magic, so take that into account when equipping materia. If you succeeded in raising the Ultima to the second level, it will do wonders. Otherwise, rely on Comet, Contain (but don’t forget about the Turks’ resistance to elemental magic), the most powerful summons you’ve got and physical attacks.
First, cast Big Guard and Regen. Then, definitely start by stealing from the Turks, as they hold valuable equipment. After that, unleash all you’ve got on them, with your most powerful spells, and concentrate your physical attacks on one Turk at a time. Don’t forget to heal once in a while, as they do have the power to bring your characters down easily. |
