Boys will be boys; after finding a medal sitting all by its lonesome, this boy all of a sudden gets praise from his hometown, and word spreads that he is the Hero. He clearly loves the attention. He doesn't even renege on his story when he is put forth to lead the king's army against Magus.

Luckily for him, he's finally found out when the real hero emerges to claim the medal. His father is ashamed, the town is let down, but somehow Tata is relieved that he doesn't have to stay under that pressure.
