Professor Gast was a prominent scientist from the Shinra Corporation. He was responsible for discovering Jenova during an excavation at Mt. Nibel. It was thought that perhaps Jenova might be an Ancient. Along with Hojo, another scientist from Shinra, Gast began to study and experiment with Jenova in the basement of the Nibelheim Mansion.
