Job Analysis

The Black Mage has the potential to do truly frightening amounts of damage with his powerful Black Magic, which makes him a true offensive powerhouse. His wide range of magical artillery allows him to harm both single targets and all of his enemies at once. This formidable strength is compounded by the various elemental weaknesses that he can take advantage of. All in all, no other character can wreak so much havoc in such a small period of time. Unfortunately, all of these impressive magical abilities come with a price; the Black Mage is easily the weakest character in the game, physically speaking. His attacking strength is a joke, and his low HP count and terrible defense are only matched by his utter inability to equip most anything useful. Unless protected by a powerful warrior on the front lines, the Black Mage will go down with just a few good hits. Thus it is extremely important to keep the Black Mage far from the front lines, where he can deal death from a comfortably safe distance.
