4. We're Back!

Enemies: Hetake, Beetle, Avian Chaos, Guard, Decedent, Omnicrone, Yodu De
Treasures: Ether x3, ArmorBronze Mail, Shelter x3, 1500G, BladeLode Sword, Mid Tonic

Lucca will head home but will insist that you escort Marle home. Take all the time you need before heading back to Guardia Castle. Before you return to the Castle, however, it's worth visiting Lucca's House on the southern peninsula. Go upstairs and speak to Lucca's mother, Lara, which will prompt a visit from her father, Taban. Wait until they finish talking, then head back downstairs. Taban will now be standing there for the remainder of the game, and he will periodically give you equipment for Lucca if you bring her to visit him.

When you make it to Guardia Castle, you'll be surrounded by guards as soon as you walk in. The Chancellor calls you a terrorist, claiming that you tried to confuse Princess Nadia in order to take the throne. Although Marle tries to stop them, the soldiers eventually subdue you and take you to court.

Crono is now on trial for the Chancellor's trumped-up charges of abducting the Princess and conspiring to take over the throne. The verdict depends upon how you acted at the Millennial Fair with Marle. If you're looking to be found "Not Guilty", we've got a guide just for you. Ultimately, it doesn't matter whether you're found guilty or not—you'll be sentenced to execution by the Chancellor. The guards knock you out and toss you into a cell.

Guardia Prison

You have two courses of action from within the Prison. The quickest is to walk up to the bars on your cell and continuously rattle them, irritating the guards. They'll open the door and attack you, but he is too slow to leave and you can knock him out from behind. Alternatively, you can wait three days and head off to be executed. If you do this, Lucca will show up and rescue you. There's an advantage to waiting for execution and the subsequent rescue, as Lucca will have taken out many of the enemies on the way in - check their bodies for Mid Tonics - and you get two party members for the entirety of the dungeon.

Assuming you've waited for Lucca, leave the area with your guillotine and you will run into another boy awaiting execution. Free him and he'll introduce himself as Fritz, then leave, mentioning that he works at the Truce Market.

The dungeon is very straightforward, but some of the doors won't open all the way from just the switches. In this case, you need to find another way through. There will be a cell with a big hole in the wall that you can go through, then scale down to get into one of the blocked cells. From there, climb down the hole in the floor to get into the other.

You'll eventually enter a room with the Prison Manager. If you waited for Lucca, he will already have been knocked out. If not, he'll try to run away, but will be stopped by Lucca, who will finally join you. Check his body for 5 Mid Tonics, then read about the Dragon Tank. It mentions that it cannot be damaged by Fire or Lightning, meaning that Slash and Flame Toss are both out. Head up the stairs he tried to run and you'll have to fight your way out.

Strategy
The Dragon Tank consists of three parts: the head, the body, and the wheel. The head will heal all three parts for a good amount, so target it first. It will go down after about 300 HP worth of damage (more, of course, as it heals itself). Have Lucca heal with Mid Tonics, because all three parts will be constantly attacking you for good damage. After the head, go after the grinder because of the tank's rolling attack. It will die after around 250 HP, so then focus on the tank body itself. It will now begin to fire lasers at you as a counterattack, but with nothing else to back it up, it won't last long. Once Crono pulls out his sword and destroys it, it's over, and you can head back into the castle.

Guardia Castle (1000 A.D.)

After dispatching the Dragon Tank, you'll be back in Guardia Castle. There's a Shelter in a chest on the way down the stairs. You'll eventually be surrounded by soldiers who surround and try to stop you, but Marle calls them off once again. The King and Chancellor will try to stop her, but Marle tells them off and pulls you and Lucca out of the castle. The guards will continue the chase in Guardia Forest, forcing you into what appears to be a dead end (and a sealed box), but Lucca will discover a Gate, and although you have know idea where it'll take you, you decide to enter. To the Chancellor's disbelief, you disappear.
